"Happiness is found when you stop comparing yourself to others" [Buddha]
We all experience times of challenge or difficulty when life can feel overwhelming, or we simply feel lost and without purpose. We can work together to help you make sense of these challenging times and offer a way through them.
Therapy can be short or long term. The number of sessions will depend on the depth and complexity of the issues you want to resolve. It is unusual for therapy to last for less than twelve sessions, and some may continue for more than two – five years. Some people use therapy to take them through a crisis, others to work more deeply looking for some resolution and change in their lives. Many have some therapy, and later return to do more.
As your therapist, I will provide a safe space within which you can explore any issues. In therapy sessions with me you can express your feelings and gain deeper insight into yourself and your relationships with others. Our sessions are confidential, so you can talk about things you might not feel comfortable discussing with anyone else. The goal is to help you find better ways to cope and to bring about changes in the way you think and behave that will improve your mental and emotional well-being.
I work on the basis that that there is no 'one size fits all' approach with an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client. I take an open-minded approach with my clients, using whichever methodology that seems to be the most appropriate.
Speak in Confidence
Therapy takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity, empathy and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.
I have experience of working with a range of issues:
Family & Relationships
Difficulties at work or in retirement
Depression & anxiety
Problems with confidence or self-esteem
Issues relating to sexuality
Eating disorders or self harming
Feeling sad for 'no' reason
